Thanks to an updated version of ChatGPT, Microsoft launched a new AI-powered Bing search engine yesterday. I've only used this latest version of Bing and other AI-powered capabilities in Microsoft's Edge browser for a few hours, but it already feels like an upgrade to ChatGPT.
ChatGPT has never produced something as humorous and sassy as this. A hilarious resignation letter doesn't distinguish Microsoft's AI features from ChatGPT, but Microsoft's AI approach operates differently.
First, Microsoft is streaming real-time news into its chat version of Bing, allowing you to query about current events. It summarized Microsoft's Bing AI event announcement based on several articles. That was minutes after Microsoft announced it.

Like ChatGPT, Bing isn't always correct. I requested the newest information on this week's deadly earthquake in Turkey and Syria, but everything was dated. It wasn't a time zone issue, as Bing's source article was written on the right day.
I also asked Bing to compose a film showing its new AI functions. Instead of promoting Microsoft's great new innovations, it focused on current search functionality. Naturally, I ended the video with "Thank you for watching and happy searching!"
Microsoft receives feedback through Bing's dislike button. A Bing engineer at Microsoft's Redmond headquarters told me that dislikes are being sent to engineers' inboxes to repair flaws and enhance Microsoft's model. That feedback loop can't expand, but since just a few thousand individuals have access, it helps Microsoft rectify inaccuracies as it opens up its waitlist.
